Let us rise and build

 Today I want to go to the book of Nehemiah, and I am probably giving away the message this week but this is important.

All too often we talk of the trouble in starting a  ministry, the detractors, the ones who oppose. Today we are going to talk about Nehemiah, the man burdened with rebuilding his hometown.

The man commissioned by God to go get to work.

Nehemiah had a burden, he prayed, he sought the Lord and the Lord got Him what he (Nehemiah) wanted, a chance to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

I am not going to go too deep here for I will be doing that Thursday, or Sunday, so for tonight we are going to look at a verse or two.

Neh 2:16  And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work. 

Neh 2:17  Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. 

Nehemiah went out in the night, he scouted the job, he walked the job. He had not told anyone yet why he was there, or what the job God had given him was. He played his cards close to his chest and he planned and prepared.

Then and only when he had a full vision did he go to the co-laborers.

Neh 2:18  Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king's words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work. 

I want you to see the ones who heard the message, the hand of God on him, how God had the king work in Nehemiah's favor and what they did.

They heard, they followed, they believed and then they got to work.

Let us rise up and build. What faith, what a testimony Nehemiah had.

These men heard him, heard the job and they said ok, let's get to work.

A few weeks ago the armor bearer said I am with thee. What faith.

These men said Let us rise up and build.

So many times we see the negatives, God has given us the example of those ready to work and the results achieved. Let us Rise and build.
