Thy children walking in Truth? Good Job

2Jn 1:4  I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

John the disciple that Jesus loved, is writing a letter.

He is writing to an elect lady, and he is congratulating her for the firm teaching she has done with her kids for they are walking in Christ, which John calls Truth. She has brought them up well and has them living right, as far as we know (for who can ever truly know the heart of another?).

I do not think we do this enough in this world, congratulate folks for doing the right thing, for the results from living the right way.

You may not think it worth it, but in today's society where it is all chaos and self, it truly is an achievement to raise children right.

So many fall by the wayside, so many walk away, yes some return but the fact that her kids were walking in Christ is a great testimony to Her testimony.

John congratulates her on staying true and faithful, for following the commandments of God and  being a light and a testimony to her kids.

We ought to practice more of that, for it truly is a hard thing to do.

Praise each other for the triumphs in life, rejoice in the little victories together. Share a praise, a laugh and a moment of victory.

They are too few, and very far between, let's share, let's lift up and exhort.

Some say this lady was an actual lady, others maintain it was a church he was writing too.

Either way the Lady or the church raised her children right, pastoring, parenting both are hard and to have done it for years and to be victorious and faithful is an incredible victory no matter whom he is writing too.

When was the last time we congratulated a church pastor for the faithfulness serving his flock, leading them right? Or the parent who has raised the kids and they kept on the straight and narrow due to the testimony of the parent?

Lift each other up, congratulate on the victories no matter how small, praise, exhort. Encourage the parent, encourage the pastor. Encourage each other and let's get this burden shared!

In this world that is so quick to tear down, let's build each other up and make the fight a little easier with a Word.

The Word of encouragement.
