I am with thee

 1Sa 14:6  And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few. 

In all the Bible there are a few people that inspire with their leadership, with their words, and with their actions.

This morning I want you to see the man that inspired others with his faith and the one that inspired ME with his loyalty.

Jonathan must have been quite the young man, strong, fierce, loyal, fun, yet serious for David loved Jonathan like a brother, even though Jonathan's father was trying to kill him.

 Jonathan's father leaned on him trusted him as no other. 

Jonathan was a special young man strong, dedicated and intelligent. He must have had a strong faith, for he makes a statement of great faith in the verse.

He is in a land being persecuted by the Philistines, and he is the son of the king. Jonathan is going to do something about it and notice what he says, there is no restraint to the Lord.

Jonathan must have read of Gideon, Jonathan must have read of Shamgar, he knew God worked and it didn't matter the size of the army, it only mattered the size of the God.

Jonathan must have been a great guy for he inspired David and he inspired his armor bearer. The young man that bore his armor, this young man showed tremendous faith in Jonathan and a tremendous loyalty and this young man, who we do not know, this is his answer to Jonathan.

1Sa 14:7  And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart. 

These two young men showed such great faith, one trusting in God, the other trusting in the leadership of the man following God, and guess what? There was a great victory for they strategized, they planned, they prepared, they prayed and then they executed the plan. 

Men of God need faith like Jonathan's. I agree.

The armorbearer's faith? That is an amazing statement to me, do all that is in your heart I am with thee. He trusted Jonathan fully and his LIFE was on the line. He was the armorbearer/bodyguard of Jonathan, if something happened to Jonathan he would be killed. Also, if he followed Jonathan into battle and Jonathan was wrong they were both dead.

This young man flat out trusted Jonathan.

What a faith, what a testimony!
