John 3:16
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
I want you to recite that verse and pay special note to what the inflection in your voice does on the should not perish. We rush through that part for we want to get too the high point of everlasting life,
Don't get me wrong it is important to know what God has planned for those that believe in Him.
It is equally imortant that we do NOT minimize what happens to those who do not believe. This is not a game show where they have 3 or 4 options. This is serious, life and death, pass fail stuff here.
If they do not believe in Christ they will perish, eternally, in death and torment. Simple.
Have you ever considered how we fail to maximize that? How we minimize the "should not perish" thought because our very finite minds seem to recoil from it? From the thought of all we see and know going to hell if they do not believe?
How if we truly believed the flip side of the "should not perish" coin which is "will perish" if they do not believe we would act more urgently, yet we do not witness and testify as if they will perish.
Just a thought that occurred to me.
