Joh 9:23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
Joh 9:24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
Joh 9:25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
Jesus heals a blind man, He spits, make clay and heals the man. The people again rejoice for the miracle performed. The "religious elite" once again condemn the acts of Jesus because they do not "see" God in what Jesus is doing. For after all, they of all people would know God if He truly showed up, right?
What also strikes me here, the ones who weree charged with leading the poeple to God, had no idea who or what God is. They truly do not even try to "see" Him. They do not go to the Temple to pray and ssek God's face to find out if Jesus is the Messiah. Why did they need to seek God's Word when they already knew it right? Why did they need to know if they were right, when they KNEW they were right. Interesting isn't it?
Sometimes I wonder if the Pharisees and sadducees even believed in God, it seems to me that all they ever did was in their own interest not God's.or the people's. They could not see God in Jesus, but they certainly saw satan everywhere didn't they?
So they call the blind man again for his parents said he was of age and could answer for himself. They were afraid of the religious folks for they had no idea what happened, or how. The blind man, who can now see, comes forth and what does he say?
He says he doesn't know if Jesus is a sinner or not, he merely knows the change in his life since Jesus came into it.
We sing of amazing grace and how once we were blind but now we can see. This blind man coulod relate so very much to that song.
Yet the religious leaders never gained their sight. They never saw the savior that walked among them, talked to them. They were blind.
That part the blind man says just really resonates in me today, I do not know How, I just know where once I was blind, I now can see.
Jesus has never, ever entered into a life where that life was not affected. He is God. He is alive today and He wants to know you. Jessus, the sweetest name I know.
