There has been a thought on me for some time.
I want to say straight out this is not a critique of anyone nor is it pointed at anyone.
Act_4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
I have said it before but lately I have been listening to some preachers preaching in a lot of different places and I am hearing everything but Jesus.
If we are not preaching Jesus then what is the point?
His name can change the world, His Word can change lives, His Story can make it all worthwhile.
Rom_10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Rom_10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
I know I touched on this not too long ago yet I feel the need to bring it up again. There is a distinct lack of church, of prayer services, or revival services and people who are willing to attendthose services in America today.
Has the church not taught Jesus, does the church know Jesus? For He burns within me, He changes lives when they come to know Him.
Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so. Do they know Jesus loves them? Do we tell them of Jesus and let the power of His name do the rest? How will they know lest we tell them?
Have we invited them to church but not told them of the One we have church for? Do we bring them to events in and around the church but fail to tell them of Jesus?
2 weeks ago I spoke on the simplicity of Jonah and John the Baptist's message.
Perhaps we need to get back the simple message. Tried and true. Yes I know I started a children's song but still a very deep and philosophical song if you ponder it.
We have forgotten that open church doors, plus the message of Jesus has been the standard for changing the world throughout the ages.
Why are we not preaching Jesus? That is what they need to hear, that is who they need to hear of.
