Consecrate:
make or declare (something, typically a church) sacred; dedicate formally to a religious or divine purpose.
Yet the church of Jesus is not a church building is it? The Church in the age of Grace is the body of believers. The person, the individual.
Therefore to consecrate something to God such as the church in today's world, does that not mean the person, the individual?
Yes we have set a building up to worship, a designated place to gather, worship, pray sing, and teach preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Yet that building means absolutely nothing, NOTHING if the Gospel of Christ is not furthered.
You may have the perfect location, a light on a hill, or in the middle of the biggest city in the world, if you do not preach and teach Christ constantly to a lost and dying world, then you are a social club.
Consecrate means to set aside and make sacred to God. Formally dedicate to God.
We used to have dedication services for our kids where the parents promised to raise them right and teach them the ways of God, to prepare them for His Service.
No more.
We the parents promised God we would do right, yet we failed our God and our kids.
So now we do not even have those services anymore, and we wonder why the church is dying.
We say come out from among them and be separate yet we then want to only do that on Sunday morning.
We are supposed to consecrate 10% to God - tithe 10% time 10% talent 10%.
yet what about our life does God only ask 10%? He doesn't He asks that we be fully Consecrated to Him, totally completely and Wholly.(HOLY).
Where in the Bible is God satisfied with 10% of your love? Your thoughts?
Our God is a jealous God and He wants all of you. All of me. If you can not give Him your all then you do not know Him. Harsh right?
Heb 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
You are bought and paid for by Christ. He demands your all. He gave you the way, He is the Way, now you must walk that Way and talk that Way and be a door to the Way for others.
You have a child but if that child gets 10% of you that child fails.
You are married but if you give 10% to your spouse the marriage fails. (Fast)
You have a car but just put 10% of the oil, or fill the radiator 10% it fails.
Your life and relationship with God is no different.
Take my life and let it be Lord, Consecrated to Thee. What else do we have that He might want or need? Nothing that is all He wants you to Consecrate yourself to Him and a relationship with Him. Perhaps we need to consider this consecration thing, reconsider it.
