Every now and then I talk about how hard writing one of these is, the struggle to put it into cohesive thought and the knowledge that it will not be read because it is one of those that makes people look in, not all fluff and marshmallows.
This one is perhaps the hardest to date, from the struggle of cohesiveness, fleshing out of a thought given to me, and the subject matter. Yet I have not been given peace to not write it so here goes.
When you have a baby come in to your life, that baby is totally and completely dependent on you. To make and to mold in your image. As the child grows you do different things at different ages, depending on their growth, to keep them growing.
Yet never at any time will you allow an 8 yr old to behave as the newborn, or the18 yr old to behave as the 5 yr old.
Does God expect any less from us? Does He expect us to stay as newborn babes? Not knowing right from wrong, not knowing His Will?
Will He be ok with us behaving in a manner counter to His Pure and Holy Nature?
1Pe 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
I do not think so.
The one hindrance to Spiritual growth that we never discuss is the lack of the Spirit. Instead we take the easy way out ' You can never know another's man heart therefore you must take them at face value".
Ananias and Saphira anyone? Simon the sorcerer?
James says faith with no works is dead. Faith must produce works. No action or choice is made in a vacuum. There must be some evidence that there is a change. Jesus, God Himself, in your life will change you to His Image. If there is no growth, no change, then we must start asking if the heart that claims to have made the choice is truly converted.
When looking around at the world and seeing so many false prophets in the pulpit, let me ask you, do they know they are false prophets? They preach a message against the Word of God, yet they do not have the Spirit of God to clarify the Gospel to them, for them. Do they know they err? No they do not for they do not have the Spirit leading them helping them to understand.
You tell me I am quite arrogant to think I can tell who is right and who is wrong.
I tell you that any person that goes against God's Word is a liar and the truth is not in them. Jesus is the only way to heaven according to my Bible. Troubles and trials will come to all who proclaim Christ. This world is not my home, I am just passing through.
Jesus let the sinners come to Him just as they were, but He never told them to stay in their sin. He told them to go and sin no more.
Quite frankly if God is made in my Image, I do not want to be saved. For if He is no better than I why do I need Him? Yet this is the standard of the World. They bring The Most High, Holy, Pure God to their level so they can feel good about themselves. For if God is like them they feel better about themselves because then they are good enough, they then are the moral authority.
Yet my Bible says God is Holy Just Pure, that He abhors sin.
When God spoke to Moses through the burning bush God Himself says it is Holy Ground take your shoes off Moses, just by His Spirit's presence.
When God spoke to the Israelites it scared them so bad they asked Moses to never let them hear or see that again.
When God appeared in the fiery furnace, the earthly king who saw Him in there then declared Him as The God.
Dan 3:26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire
Dan 3:29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.
There was a change in Nebuchadnezzar. There was a change in Saul. There was a change in Nicodemus. There is a change when God gets involved in your life. There is a desire to be like Him, in His Image, to abide by His rules.
Just as you want to please your earthly father, so does a True child of God want to please Him.
Too many of us want the Salvation so freely offered, yet we want to keep the Holiness off to the side, where it does not interfere with our sin. We want a table full of food, but no check to pay. We want Eternal Security, a home in Heaven, without giving up the temporal pleasures of the flesh.
God says come unto me all ye that are heavy laden and I shall give you rest. Not Comfort, Not riches but rest. Please note that rest is a short defined time. There is no promise that it will be a never-ending rest, no in fact it is the opposite, He shall give you rest, that rest is so that you may gather your strength and carry on the fight.
Rest: : a place for resting or lodging: peace of mind or spirit : to be free from anxiety or disturbance
That is what God offers, No matter what happens here, we know that one day we will be there, with Him. There should be no fear or worry here. There should be no thought given for tomorrow for tomorrow is the day we are home with the Lord.
We are not worthy, the fact that He found us. chased us, died for us, should be the reason that you live pure holy and just.
He found us, He made us worthy, should we not strive to live as He wants us too? Holiness front and center, not on the side?
