We sing of Grace, we talk of Grace, we love Grace, we live in Grace, Amazing wonderful Grace.
Yet the average Christian tells no one of that Grace that saved a wretch like them, why not?
2Pe_3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
We have been talking in Sunday School about the church being excited, for if the church doesn't care about Christ then how shall those in the world care? If we are not excited how shall they be? Why should they be?
Grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord. What we will find is that as we grow in the knowledge of Jesus, we will grow in excitement. For He is the giver of Grace, He is the giver of Life, He is the source of our happiness, He is our all.
If He is our all, your all, my all, then every one we know ought to know from our walk and talk, from our words and our actions that He is our Dad.
I have a son, adopted, loved and raised by me. He is my son, He walks like me, he talks like me, has a lot of my interests. Why? Because he was around me all the time, he was influenced by me and I by him.
How can we "christians" not walk like Jesus, not talk like Jesus? Not tell the whole world of what He did for us, and I don't mean in a mindless monotone way, I mean excited praise God He saved me!
This world would hate us if truly we talked of Him, showed Him to them, for He is the Light of the World that tells them of their sin, their need. We should be telling them, all of them, of His Love, His Sacrifice for them that they too might share in His boundless Love and Grace.
Have we forgotten from whence we came? Have we forgotten what He raised us up out of? Out of our sins and trespasses? Have we forgotten that as Paul we are the chiefest of sinners?
"But I wasn't a real big sinner, I was a good boy when I got saved". Oh Really?
Is Hell only for the big sinners? The gossipers and liars, those who disobey parents? murderers, adulterers? What about the little white lie? What about the heart that thinks evil towards their mother, brother, sister, Father?
For we are all born in sin and trespasses, with the human nature, we all needed Him to raise us up out of this sin and despair.
Yet we forget to praise Him, He who raised us up. He died for us. He paid the price for our sin that we might fellowship with Him.
Where is the excitement? The Joy? The praise. the testimony?
Why do they need what we have if it is no better than what they have? Why do they need salvation if we are just as bitter, sin filled, and hopeless as they are? At least they get to have fun on the way, so why would they want what we have?
Christians, God saved a wretch like you! Time to shout and praise. Get out of your own way and show the World a life worth having. Stop being like them and start being like your Father in Heaven.
He paid the price, He suffered and died, how can we do less than live wholly and purely for Him?
How can we do less than tell them of our Wonderful Father who wants them in His Home and He has already paid for it for them?
