Jdg 2:8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.
Jdg 2:9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.
Jdg 2:10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
The death of Joshua, the loss of a generation. A generation which knew not the Lord, nor the works He had done.
A generation. Please note that this is not the full generation, just the majority, I am certain that there were God fearing men and women in this generation but they were out numbered. So what happened that they lost an entire generation?
Israel had just come into the Promised land and they were building homes, making farms, building a life for their family. What they forgot was to make their family a God fearing family that remembered the Lord their God. They provided for their children but forgot to educate their children on the God that made it all possible.
Sound familiar folks?
We have lost a generation chasing after the latest comfort, technology, pleasure and have lost a generation ,at least, to the machinations of the devil and his minions.
This life of comfort we have been given has taken us down a road we should never have gone, but too much idle time, too much bored time and perversions start creeping in because everything else has been done already.
Pro 13:25 The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want
The belly of the wicked, the desires of the carnal, shall always need more and newer things to keep them satiated. It is the way of man always needing bigger and newer. Now a days perversions are as rampant among our young ladies as they are among the young men. We have failed God.
Not just the children, not just the church, not just the nation, but God we have failed.
The church for the last year has given ground, closed up and the world just progressed at a record pace into perversions. There is no other way to say it.
Now the church is complaining they can not get folks back, "but you go to walmart and its crowded, as is everywhere else." All of those places did not close up and tell everyone that the world did not need them. When all the "non-essential" places closed up guess what? Folks saw who was necessary for life, and the church wasn't!
I know it is not all churches, I can not make a blanket statement like that, but enough of them closed down for a full year and now they want their congregation back, but the congregation saw just how important the church was to a nation in crisis. NONE.
Now we are fighting a tide of wickedness in this nation that is getting bigger and bigger and the majority of this generation does not know God and it is OUR fault.
Pro_22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Most parents have not done this, they have been to busy chasing their comfort time, their me time, their pleasure, and forgot that the kids are the next generation.
The church is in a very bad place in this nation. I mean the true Gospel preaching church, not the false prophets who preach false hope, false theology. There are always going to be people chasing the sweet words from false prophets.
The true church who was already facing an impossible battle made it even harder on themselves, We are now so far behind that we may never catch up again.
And how are we "fixing" this problem? Well we are telling folks to come back, calling them backslidden if they do not come back. on our schedule, when we feel it is safe.
The Church of God closed to the public when they and to be honest we needed it most. We isolated in our homes, we justified our inaction by making it available on streaming sites, and we forgot how much being together meant to us, how much we needed the congregating of the church to bolster our Spirit.
There is one way to fix this, prayer and fasting. Period.
Open the church full time for people to remember that God never sleeps, God never takes a vacation, God never, ever turns His back on the world. He is all knowing, ever present in times of need as well as times of excess.
We the church let the people down. We let God down, and we will feel this failure for at least a generation to come.
