Rejoice, because your names are written in Heaven

Luk 10:17  And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

Luk 10:18  And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Luk 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luk 10:20  Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Jesus had sent out the 70 to preach the Kingdom, to heal and to cast out demons in His power. They were given authority over pain, sickness, and demons. Imagine that, the power to actually heal and to cast out the demons that were making the people miserable.

Not as some people do in this day and age, in falseness, in heresy, "slaying in the spirit" all for the money they rake in.

Yet, verse 20 is the most interesting part of this passage. What does He say? Rejoice not in the great things (as men count great things) but rejoice that your name is wrote in Heaven.

They were casting out demons, they were winning the spiritual war even if just for a time, they were healing the sick, they were imbued with the Power of Christ and Jesus, God Himself tells them to rejoice only in their names being wrote in Heaven.

What does that mean? It means that nothing we do, nothing we say should be rejoiced in, only the Father and what He does, what He says is to be rejoiced in, for in Him is Salvation provided, in Him is Eternal life.

What can we do to earn it, to attain it? Nothing. Therefore, we can only rejoice in the Father. We are to rejoice that God found us worthy, that He wrote our names in the Lamb's book of life in Heaven.

If that is not humbling then nothing is.

Rom_5:18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

As by one, Adam, sin came to all men, death became the penalty, So by one, Jesus, came life to all men.

What can we say or do that does not glorify the Father when we truly understand the depths of His Love, His Sacrifice, His Mercy and His Grace? When we are of an age (Spiritual) that we understand this, it opens the mind to a whole lot more that we have not understood before. The same thing happens to a lesser extent when you watch your children and through them come to a greater understanding of the Father and you.

We have nothing to say or do of ourselves that can do a thing for us. We must rejoice only in the Lord and His Power, His Mercy and His Grace. There is nothing without Him. We are nothing without Him.

Not our Words, Not our message, Not our presence, none of this matters. None of our meager victories mean a thing.

It is all Him and the Grace and Mercy He has extended usward.

These men went out and did things no one had done in concert ever before, they cast out demons, they healed the sick, they preached the kingdom, but not just in the name of Christ, no they did it in the Power and authority of Christ.

Yet Christ told them to rejoice for their names are in the Lamb's book of life.

Herein is our joy, that we have our names written in the Lamb's book of life.

Can you say that your name is written in the Lamb's book of life? Do you know how to get your name in the Lamb's Book of life?

Christ is the Lamb. His Book of life is the one your name needs to be in.

The only way to be there is to call on the name of Christ, believe that He is the Way the Truth and the Life. He died for your sins on the cross. He died that you did not have to. He died that you might have life and life eternal.

That life is free, all you have to do is confess with your mouth that Christ is God, that He paid it all and that you place your faith in Him for that life.

Rejoice, that you name is written in the Lamb's book of life. That is your joy, your only joy. This world does not matter, this life does not matter. this world is not my home, all we do should be geared to the next life.

That is where our joy is, for that is where our Savior is.
