Laissez Faire

I had a vendor in today to do some work and we started talking. I asked him if he went to church and he said no, he was born and raised a Catholic, but drifted away because it was a cold religion. I tried to talk to him then gently, trying to get him to open up about it, but no luck.

He maintained that he lived a good life, that he was hoping God forgave him. He felt that God had spoke to him at one time through a particular situation years ago and he believes in God. He knows that all are men are sinners, yes I quoted Romans 3:23, to reinforce that, he just didn't know where else to go in his own thinking, and unfortunately he was not quite listening to me as I tried to get into that conversation.

Why do I bring this up? Because I am running into a lot of this here in the Bible belt, of people who are hoping they are good enough,

Kind of a laissez faire.

If the very Bible belt can be this lost, this vague in the Bible then what is happening in the rest of our nation? It is no wonder then that we have so many people so confused.

Joh 15:12  This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Joh 15:13  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

That a man lay down his life for his friends. That is love.

You know we always take this to mean dies for his friends.

But how many are brave enough to live for their friends? Their family? How many are brave enough to stand up to the world, this world, and live a life of righteousness? To denounce sin, yet to love the sinner?

That may be the harder course. living for your fiends and family is going to be a lot harder than dying for them.

Joh 15:13  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

The greatest love of all. Not to die for your friends, but to die to self, for your friends, that they might have a shining example of Christ and His Love, His sacrifice.

How many are going to die in their sins if you do not live a life of Christ for them? How many will go to church, but see you living as they do and never go back, thereby dooming them to a fate worse than death because you did not live for them?

How many are willing to make an effort to speak out, not just in words but in testimony every day, every minute, every hour?

They very well may hear you, but they are definitely seeing you. Watching you. If there is a difference in you they will notice.

Has this nation of Christians become the lukewarm church of Revelations? Neither Hot nor Cold but apathetic and worthless? More of a hindrance than a help to the cause of Christ?

Christ came that all might come to repentance, but if they do not know they need Him, if they do not know that they are lost and dying in their sin, if they do not know that He can fill the void with in, then how can they know the answer to a question they will never ask?

Church we must get proactive, we must get vocal, we must get our ACT together. There is a world that needs to hear of Christ.

Christian we must get proactive, we must get vocal, we must get our ACT together

How many did you talk with this week of your Savior?

How many did you witness to? Testify to?  Again not just your words but your actions?

How many will you strive to reach this coming week? Make a goal even if it is one, set a goal and then strive for it. Start with prayer for them and courage for you that you might speak up. Pray that God provide the moment for you to witness.

Then pray that He gives you the wisdom to speak to the moment He gives you.

The laissez faire attitude must go away in our every day Christian life, we must get out and tell our world of our Savior the One who died for them.
