We hear a lot about God allowing things, bad things, to happen. Why would a good and loving God allow death, pain and destruction?
The closest analogy I can come to is us as parents.
You gave your child life, you provided for them all they needed, you taught them, did the best you could at raising them.
Then when they got older they made a mistake and had to pay for that mistake.
Any one of us would be there for our child, hold their hand through it but we could not pay for the consequences of their actions.
God ,on the other hand, did just that. He gave us life, He breathed life into us. The very life He breathed into us, He then came to this earth and breathed His last earthly breath for us on the cross.
Luk 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Luk 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
People say "He needed a sacrifice, that's barbaric". and maybe to modern man it is. Yet that does not make it any less true.
God had a plan, He had a perfect plan. We messed it up. Now we have to live with less than perfect results.
Everything He did/does is for our good and we generally take it and corrupt it.
He had to come to this earth and die, Shed His own blood that we might have life. There was no other sacrifice that could have sufficed.
That is a benevolent God. That is a loving God.
Yet man has taken the Sacrifice and has made it of no account, man has taken the Word He gave us and have taken the blood out of it.
Man has done everything that we could to minimize God, Make His Sacrifice of no account. Man has belittled God, and taken Him out of everywhere that He was.
Yet He loves us still. That is evident in the very fact that He has not come back yet. that more might come to repentance. He wants ALL to come to Him.
The blood is the very life force of any being on earth. The oil in your engine is modeled after the blood in our veins. The oil goes, the engine goes. The blood goes, the life goes.
The blood flows through the heart keeping it clean and pumping.
So does the Spirit of God through the very "heart" of man keeping it clean and free from sin.
For out of the "heart " of man comes sin. Sin is not the action, sin is in the heart and the intent long before it becomes action.
Mat_15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

God requires a sacrifice in the Old Testament, and it is a very specific sacrifice. A very perfect, unblemished sacrifice. The life given of this perfect sacrifice was to be a temporary forgiveness of sin. It was to foreshadow the death of Christ on the Cross.
Christ came to earth, God in human form to live a sinless perfect life, something that we could not possibly do. He came and gave us the sacrifice that was needed for the remission of sins.
Heb_9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
You say "why didn't He just keep us from sin?" He wants everyone to choose Him. He wants us to choose right and virtue and honor. Just as we want from our kids. Just as we smile when they do the right thing unbidden, just as when they get a good grade for their study and hard work and we are proud of them, so is God proud of us when we do the right thing.
God could have saved Himself a whole lot of trouble if He had just kept us clean and innocent and free of sin, yet what kind of God would He be if He did that? Just as you want your child to progress in life from the baby to the child to the young adult, so to does God wants us to progress physically as well as spiritually.
For even as we love to talk with our kids, to fellowship with them, to see them succeed and grow, So to does our God want to see us progress and fellowship with Him.
The Lord God Almighty knew this and understood this, this is why we were given free will. This is why He died.
He paid for our sin on the cross for He loves us as we love our own children, yet His Love is far more perfect that we could ever hope to achieve.
He didn't want his children to die and pay for the consequences of sin.
He came and shed His own blood for you and me that we might not have to pay the price for our rebellion.
Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
For life is in the blood, pure sinless blood. The blood that was not stained by sin.
You say why would a good and loving God allow pain and death?
I say a Good and loving God gave us life, twice. He died for the very Creature that He created. That is love.
If ever there was a greater love, I do not know it.
If ever there was a more generous, benevolent act, I do not know it.
Stop asking Why would He allow things, start asking why would He give so much for us ungrateful, rebellious children.
It truly is all in the perspective.
if your "bible" does not give the blood the prestige it deserves, then get The bible,
If the person you listen to doesn't preach and teach the blood of Christ, run away.
If the church you are in smiles and tells you are good enough as you are, Run away for we are not good enough we are bought and paid for with a price. The price of His Blood paid on Calvary.
