Dress for success

I have stirred things up before and made people mad at me. Ok. I am going to do it again here.

Exo 28:4  And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
Exo 28:5  And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen.
Exo 28:6  And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work.
Exo 28:7  It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it shall be joined together.
Exo 28:8  And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

God gave Moses instructions for the dress of the priest that they may be set apart and distinguishable.

When you go into a hospital you know the doctors by the lab coats.
When you go into a courtroom you know the bailiffs by uniform, the judge by the robes.
When you go to a baseball game you know the players by uniforms and the umpire by outfit.
When you go to fast food place you know the workers by their dress and the managers by theirs.

Why do "preachers" and "pastors" feel the need to not be identified the same way?

If you go to a lawyer's office in need of representation what would you do if they showed up in hole filled jeans and a tshirt?
Your doctor comes into exam room wearing shorts and a tank top?

The President of the United States stands to represent America he stands in a suit and tie. Would anyone take him serious if he stood in sweats and an old tshirt?

We the God fearing men and women are representing Almighty God and His Service how can we be any less in our representation than these people?

In Malachi we are instructed to bring our first fruits, and that God will not accept second rate. He wants the finest and purest in our offerings and tithes.
He instructed the Priests to be dressed differently in Exodus.
In Timothy it is laid out for the qualifications of a preacher.

If He is so exact in all these things what exactly do you think He thinks when we do not clean up and dress up for Him and His service?

2Co 6:16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Remember the old saying if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck it must be a duck.
How will they know you have something different if you are just like them? If you look as they do, talk as they do, walk like they do then you are them.

We all know God knows the heart, but man does not. They just see the outward appearance. That is how they know you, that is how they will identify you.

I know there will be blow back, and arguing over this but it has to be said, When I see a man holding a service in tshirt and jeans it means he does not take his office seriously. He does not take His God seriously.
On a ball field or a kids outing, a canoe trip, yes wear the appropriate clothing.
But when you are standing before God's people representing God, delivering His Word dress like it.

How else will they know you are speaking importance?
How else will they take you serious?
