Instant in season

How many read the title and knew the verse?

2 Timothy 2:15-16KJV
15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

How many read the verse and mistakenly mix it with this one:
Mark 13:11 KJV
11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

They may seem to be contradictory scriptures but rest assured they are stand alone and important in each aspect.

Christ was talking to His disciples and telling them to not worry about their defense in persecution.
Whereas Paul when writing to Timothy was exhorting him to study so that when he teaches and preaches God's Word he is doing it correctly.

So many feel they need not study, that they can open God's Word and teach and the Spirit will give them the proper words.
However the flaw in that thinking is assuming that you will be spirit filled and guided with out proper preparation.
To be thoroughly useful we must study to shew ourselves approved. Study to properly disseminate the Gospel, study to properly exhort the brethren.
Taking the Word out unprepared leaves us open to our own thoughts, our own perspectives and interpretations instead of God's.
We must study, how else will we get His Thoughts and interpretations correct if we are not in tune with Him?
Study the Word, be not unprepared when you stand as God's representative to His people.
Leave no room for error or misguided thoughts.
Pray, study and properly present the gospel.
