2 Corinthians 12:8-10King James Version (KJV)
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
This passage is the one I was looking for as I struggled With problems today. Not persecution or trials just daily issues that do drive us nuts from time to time. His grace is sufficient; however, what kept popping into mind was the following:
Matthew 6:34KJV
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
God's grace is sufficient for us for the times, troubles we are in. Leaning on His Word and His strength.
However, also sufficient for the day we are in is the evil, the trials, the troubles.
Matthew 6:34 is just after verse 33 obviously, it is often overlooked by it's far more famous predecessor.
It is just as important though.
We are to seek God's kingdom and righteousness in verse 33, and in 34 we are to live in the day we are in not yesterday or tomorrow.
Seek God, live daily (don't borrow trouble for/from the future and past). Sufficient is the day we are in.
Fight the day to day battles leaning on His Grace and give no thought to tomorrow. No worries for what might come for only He is aware and knowledgeable of the full scope of our path.
As long as we let Him direct our path we are in the safest place in the world: His Will.
