Faith and fragility

We all thought when we got older we would have it all figured out. We thought that when we got to a certain age it would all come easy, and we would be ok.
Well guess what: we aren't.

The same holds true in our christian walk.
We thought we would have it all together, have it figured out where we would be veritable saints.
Like Spurgeon, Moody, Rice etc we would be giants of the faith who like Enoch walked with God.
Yet here we are still struggling with sin, devotions, prayer and our daily walk.
Why? Why have we not progressed?

No matter how far we get in our walk, in our progression we are still human. We are still frail and fragile. We are still fraught with doubts, questions, fears, and disbelief.
The true giants of the faith were also frail, fragile humans too. They had their faults, their doubts, their insecurities.

Numbers 20:8-12KJV

Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

And Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as he commanded him.

10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

12 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

Moses walked with God, saw mighty miracles happen. And yet he sinned! He let anger get the best of him. He was human, he was flesh and blood.

If Moses a man of faith, a leader of a nation, a personal envoy from God Himself failed and sinned then we are going to as well.

In Hebrews 11 you can read the hall of faith. People you would never think of are in there. People that  the Bible, God's Holy Word, tells us these people sinned, they failed, they doubted God, they backslid.

Yet they are in God's hall of Faith.

Lot, Rahab, Samson, Jacob etc... People who were not what we would call "Pillars" of the faith.

Yet the point to take away is this: Faith.

God sees things far differently than we do. He sees the heart the intent and judges by that. We need to stop thinking we need to reach a plateau, make it to a higher plain.

We need to realize faith is the victory. We may sin, we may fail but by faith we shall overcome, we shall persevere by faith.

We will never stop being human, but we can accept our limitations. Stop living or ,trying to live up to, an idea and live in who you are.

Be the best you that you can be.

look to God and remember you can not live up to Him and His righteousness but you can be you. You can lean on Him, His Word and the Holy Spirit.

You can live in/by faith

You can ask for forgiveness when you fall

You can pick yourself up and get back on track.

Understand God sees the heart, sees the motive, and bases all on that.
