I have started a new job. A manager for a convenience store chain. Do you know what I have learned?
We have a generation who have no values, no ethics, no understanding of this truth.
That people today have no shame.
It is frustrating me that some come in and spend $20.00 on candy and soda with food stamps, then buy lottery tickets and cigarettes with cash.
Or those who spend hundreds at a Time on lottery tickets. They look for certain numbers, or certain tickets to "hit it big".
I have no problem with folks in need who need help, a hand up. Some people have a turn of events in their life where they need food stamps or assistance.
Then there are those who are perpetually in need through mismanagement of funds, unwillingness to work, etc...
There are also those folks who come in half dressed showing all their goods and do not seem to care who can see.
I remember a day when people had a conscience, when they were ashamed for anyone to know they needed foodstamps, or cash assistance. Ladies Who, if they had a slip partially showing from under a dress were ashamed. Those who would never let anyone see them buy lottery tickets
We have become so morally bankrupt in America that we no longer have a conscience... We no longer seem to have a sense of personal pride, or self accountability.
Instead of working hard to provide and save, they work and blow their money on convenience or a slim chance to win the lottery.
King Solomon, the wisest man to ever live said:
Proverbs 21:20-21King James Version (KJV)
20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

To get money that lasts you must have an investment in the acquiring of it.
They have no values because we, the older generation, failed to teach them. Now as we get older we see our failure and it is too late.
The fault is ours, we have done this. We must fix it. We must show them there are consequences, just as we now see the consequences of our own actions.
