What is the root of all evil? Most would say in this instance that " money is the root of all evil". However, most would be mistaken in that statement. What really is the root of all evil?
"For the LOVE of money Is the root of all evil".

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

It is not money. How can an inanimate object be evil? Evil usually is the result of the use we put that object too.
Wine - not evil but the fermentation and use of it to get drunk is evil.
Tobacco - not evil in it's natural state but when used in a manner never intended it becomes so.
Sex - not evil. One of the purest expressions of love between a man and woman. But perverted and misused it becomes evil, when used outside of marriage or in a way never intended it becomes so.
Gun - not evil. Good protection and a source of food gathering, Yet when pointed at someone and used wrong it becomes dangerous.
So what is really evil is our use, intent, and purpose for the object.
So it is with anything we use, we have, or we want. The evil is not inherent in any object, the evil is in the person using the object. Money in and of itself is a good thing. BUT having money or things just to have them and get more is the evil.
Money is necessary as a form of transaction, a way of life not the reason for life. Money is to be used to take care of yourself and God's work. Money is a tool to be used, nothing more.
We humans in our sin/natural state are the reason for good and bad, right and wrong. It is when we take time away from our purpose which is to serve and magnify, worship the Lord God Jehovah. It is when we put our minds, hands , and feet to other uses that we find mischief, trouble.
When money/things become the driving force for why and what you do then you enter into the realm of evil.
