Let go and Let God.

I now know why God doesn't "send me the memo" or "just show up and tell me" to give me advance notice on what He is doing.

The answer?
Its because I would try and accomplish it through my own power and not rely on Him. I would do all I could to make it happen and fail to allow Him to work for His Glory and His Honor. We are all like this. We see a problem and we decide we have to do something about it not thinking that we need to pray and seek God's Will as He may already have a fix or a plan in the works. Now we all know God has a plan, but we are not always willing to wait on Him, patience is not a human strong point.

There are a couple of examples in the Old Testament that tell us what happens when we know God's Will ahead of time.
Abraham was promised a child when he was in his old age. God promised Abraham and Sarah that they would have an heir.

Genesis 16:1-6 King James Version (KJV)

16 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.

2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.

4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.

5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the Lordjudge between me and thee.

6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thine hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

Abraham God's Friend, the Father of The Jewish Race made a mistake. He listened to His wife's request to try and make God's Will happen in their own understanding, of their own Cognizance.
There were consequences to pay for this as we see, Hagar got an attitude, Sarai became jealous and spiteful and Abraham had to live in a house with two angry women.

Second Example:
Rebecca was given a promise that the elder shall serve the younger. Rebecca loved Jacob, whereas Isaac favored Esau. Esau sold His birthright to Jacob for a bowl of Soup. Esau cheapened his heritage, his inheritance and all that his father had worked for,

Genesis 25:22- 34KJV

22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the Lord.

23 And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.

27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.

28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:

30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

A few years down the road from this day Isaac called Esau and told him to make venison so that he (Isaac) could eat and then bless Esau and let him claim his birthright. Rebecca was not going to let this happen. She had a promise from God and She was going to make sure it happened!

Now in both of these situations both promises came true in God's way and in God's time. Despite what the people did to ensure the fulfillment.
This ought to tell us several things:
1. God knows what He is doing and He has His reasons for not telling us.
2. Impatience and trying to bring about God's Will through your own devising is futile.
3.When we try to do it through our own power and in our own way we will have an epic fail.

We are so small minded and centered on the things of this earth that we fail to see things as God sees them. We have to get out of the way and let God. When He made these promises to these people He had a plan and a purpose. When they tried to circumvent it through their own understanding they created chaos and enmity. Some of which is going on today thousands of years later.

When God tells you something through His Word, when He reveals something to you don't get ahead of Him.
Let go and let God.
Wait on His timetable, unlike our planes and trains He is never late. He always comes through right at the best possible moment.
