The Mystery of The Romans Road.

You always hear of the Roman Road to Salvation and like any other idea or concept it can sound mystical and difficult. Well I am here to tell you it is not. The Romans Road is merely the long travelled path through the Scriptures that leads to Salvation. Salvation? What do you need to be saved from? What does being saved mean? Why does this matter to me?

The first point is the Romans Road is the scripture verses from the King James Bible that are used to lead someone to a deeper understanding of why they need Christ and His shed blood. Anyone can be saved. It is a very simple concept and perhaps that is why it is so hard for so many to understand. There is nothing you can do to earn the forgiveness of God and His gift to you. It is merely a gift you must accept. God needs nothing you have or that you can do or that you can say. You however, need what He has. To get it all you have to do is ask. That is what we are going to look at in this particular post.

The Romans road as laid out below is very simple and easy to understand.

The first step to salvation is to realize that we are all sinners:

Romans 3:10 (KJV)
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

This means All. No one is righteous, none are good. There is not a single person who can get to heaven on their own merit.

Romans 3:23 (KJV)
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Next, you must know that because of sin there must be a price paid. Sin in it's nature is destructive, overwhelming, and all-consuming. This leads to physical and spiritual death. The second death (Spiritual Death) spoken of in the Bible is the separation from God:

Romans 6:23 (KJV)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

This price can be paid by you with an eternity in Hell, or you can accept the price that Jesus paid for your sin. Understand that this is a battle between satan and God for your eternal Soul. Satan wants you in Hell in eternal torment with him, whereas God ,who man sinned against, provided a way for you to be with Him for eternity:

Romans 5:8 (KJV)
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

To accept Jesus’ payment for your sin simply call on His name and ask Him to forgive your sins and save you:

Romans 10:9-13 (KJV)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. [12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. [13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

There is no difference between men. The rich successful man to the beggar on the street are all held in the same category by God.

For that reason Whosoever in verse 11 means absolutely anyone and everyone. God is no respecter of persons. He will save any who call on Him.

And yes it really is that simple. To repent of your sin and rebellion against God,call on the Lord God Jehovah and He will save you. His Son died for you so that you may have life eternal. Rejection of His Son is the one sin God can not, will not forgive. Do not live another moment in sin. Call on the name of the Lord and be saved..

That is the Romans Road. Nothing can Save men but God. None can convict a sinner of their need for Salvation but the Holy Spirit. We can merely plant the seed and lead them to the truth they seek. That is what the Romans Road is for.
