Luke 12:6-7
King James Version (KJV)
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Here Christ is talking to the disciples and He tells us God loves us that much. If our God cares enough to number the hairs on our heads then He cares enough to know what's on our mind no matter how big or small.
There was a story I heard once where a preacher was in church talking to some men and his son came up to him and tried to get his attention. The preacher gently said "not now I am busy". The boy waited a few minutes then tried again, the preacher again put his son off. The third time the young boy interrupted, the preacher ,in a strident tone, asked him if it was important and the little boy looked at his dad and responded "it is to me." That then made it important to the preacher.
If our children are that important to us then how much more important are we to God? We are created in His image, we have the same relationship with Him that we have with our children.
Luke 11:9-13KJV
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Our Heavenly Father wants us to meet Him daily in prayer and fellowship. He wants to know our troubles, our joys, our ups, our downs, our fears, our triumphs.
We have a mighty God. A great God. He is there to listen, He is there to encourage, He is there to guide, He is there to direct, and He is there to lean on.
I encourage you to pray out loud, or write the prayer down, these will help you focus your thoughts. It will also help you remember when you are praying what you want to talk to God about. Talk to Him as a Father, sit beside an empty chair envision God sitting there and talk to Him as you would a brother. God wants your time and your fellowship. He wants to know all about you from your perspective, from your lips.
Nothing is too small, too big. Talk to God about it. He is waiting for you.
