Constantly trying to make others distressed and as unhappy as they are?
Continually stirring the pot with negative and discouraging words?
I know of one who does that... perpetually unhappy always has drama and most of all a strife sowing pot stirring ego-maniac. Yes ego-mania, constantly shifting attention to themselves any which way they can. Trying to make others look bad to make themselves look not so bad. This is Hubris! Pride.
Proverbs 22:9-11
King James Version (KJV)
9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
10 Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.
11 He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
Pureness of heart forbids the strife and contention sowing..
If a friend gets a raise be glad for them. If the family down the road gets blessed rejoice with them.
Perhaps the one who is miserable and contentious is of low self esteem.... Miserable in their own existence? Misery loves company, prefers to bring all around them to their level. Whereas LOVE prefers to exalt and exhort.
Please remember that we will never be called to account for the actions of others.. BUT we will give account as to how we REACT to them.
God has forgiven us of our sins, Freed us from the bondage. We must therefore cast off the bitterness envying and strife as the accolades or criticisms of this world matter not just what we are laying up in store with our Heavenly Father. We must forge ahead in the midst of these troubles. We will continue to do the right thing.
Drama as it is called today has no place in our lives we are to rise above.
When encountering this type of person/situation pray hold your tongue and refuse to be a part of continuing/condoning such actions. This kind of thing is like a fire: if there is no fuel added to the fire it dies.... if it is fed the fire grows.
