Which Voice is speaking?

Have you ever taken a step and believed you were stepping out on faith? Then once that was accomplished you started wondering "hmmmm which voice did I hear in making this step"?
God?
Satan?
Me?

These are the whatifs. They are deadly. And can lead to confusion, doubt, and mistrust. We have the right to question God. We have the tendency to doubt. So how do we resolve this conflict? How do we calm the fear and learn to trust and obey?

Romans 12:1-3

King James Version (KJV)
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith

Here in His Word the apostle Paul is telling us to set ourselves aside as God's temple and instrument. We are nothing without God. All we have, all we do is because of Him and His working in us. So we know that all Christians are called to serve. We know that all Christians are to be cognizant of the fact that God can do all things thru us if we let Him work.
By renewing our minds by reading studying the Word of God we will refresh and maintain the proper perspective in our daily life.

Matthew 6:33

King James Version (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

This is further instruction to keep our eyes firmly on the cross of Christ and our heavenly reward. This earth is temporal but necessary. We are called to come out from among them and be separate. Do not confuse this with being a hermit. separate means apart but not aloof. Christ was daily among the sinners showing the True Light. We are to be the example not the bad apple.

Now I said all that to say this.... How do we know we are being led of the Spirit? How it is God's will?
First if it is for the furtherance of His Will and something He commanded us to do then we know it's right.
Second we have the Holy Spirit guiding and prodding us.
Third we have prayer and counselors, friends, pastor etc... to lean on. God will open the doors He wants us to go through. If it goes against His Word then it isn't Him telling us to do it.

Seeking God's will for your life is a highly personal thing. Something no one can tell you. Only you and God will know what it is He wants from you specifically. BUT
if you do feel Him leading you then step out on faith. Do not ignore the prompting/pushing of the Spirit. If you do you risk losing the joy and benefits of what He has in mind for you.
