After I dropped her off at home I texted her "Thank you babygirl"...
This thought occurred to me... Do we ever thank our God for His time? Do we ever consider the fact that God Almighty, The Creator of the Universe takes time to hear our petitions? Address our needs? Listens to us vent? Or are we just on a schedule and allot time for Him out of our busy schedule?
Because we all know He has nothing going on, He is just hanging out waiting on us to Call Him.
We get a gift and miss manners says we have to send a thank you note detailing the gift etc... Do we do this with our God who has done nothing but given us His best at all times?
Psalm 105:1
O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people
Psalm 106:1
Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Have you ever started the day out as a praise session for God? Start in the morning and list to Him all the things you are thankful for:
Awaking
Breathing
A bed
A roof
etc....
This is a way to start the day off fresh with a new perspective,a new desire and drive. When we Thank Him for all He has done. Not in a perfunctory manner. After all He is God Almighty and deserves our full attention, focus and time.
Then in the course of the day let other folks know what He has done for you. " This job was because of God" "This beautiful family You gave me O Lord" just a start to what we should thankful for.
Nothing drives a point home faster than when we are telling others, speaking it out loud. Once we voice what He has given us,allowed us, and provided us then we start to realize the many little things and the many big things He has done.
After my visit with my daughter I told 3 people almost immediately about our time together. Shouldn't this be how we are about our God? He sent His Son who Gave His life, shed His blood for our sins And then offered us a free Salvation from Hell and made it so easy for us to get Salvation. He gave us the opportunity to be the sons of God. All we have to do is believe.
This deserves our praise, He deserves our thanks. Have you ever sent God a quick thank you note? Had an impromptu prayer/praise session? Told your neighbor at a café what He has done?
Folks we need to get thankful..... Remind ourselves that we are who we are because of Him. Joint heirs with Christ. Our Father deserves our thanks.
