Make haste

Here is something that has caught my attention and is fascinating yet so very simple we overlook it.
King Ahasuerus was at court and hard at work, he had not seen his bride for 30 days, and then miraculously she shows up. He was probably thinking about her and wondering why she had not called him or came to see him. They are newlyweds and she is one of the prettiest women in the kingdom, he is probably wondering if she thinks of him as he thinks of her.
He sees her and extends the golden scepter, she approaches the throne and he says what can I do for you beautiful?
Est 5:4 And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.
Est 5:5 Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
Here is the part I want to draw your attention to. She says I have a banquet prepared, can you and Haman come and have lunch with me? The King for his part says, go tell Haman to make haste for my Queen has made us a meal.
He told Haman, in the middle of their workday, ok the workday is over, my Queen prepared something special for us, let us not keep her waiting for she thought of us. Let us think of her and be kind and courteous, by being on time and not making her wait.
He is not aware of why the banquet yet, he is just being grateful for his queen thought of him and cooked for him. He didn't ask what was prepared, or why. He got up and went for someone had thought of him, worked for him, and had done something nice for him.
He had servants galore, he had maids and any thing he could want was right there, yet his Queen did a kindness for him and he appreciated it.
If your King or Queen does something for you? whether it be cooking, cleaning, a surprise phone call, flowers or what have you. Be courteous, be on time, be appreciative and be grateful.
So many things could be changed today if we just appreciated the fact someone actually thought of us.
Think about it.
