Sojourn here in fear

 

1Pe 1:17  And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: 

If you call on the name of the Father.

If you are a Christian, a Christ follower, then sojourn here on this earth in fear. For we are bought with a price and that price is Christ's shed blood, and there is coming a day when He shall judge our works.

There is coming a day when we as Christians will stand and give account of our works on this earth.

This is not the Great White throne Judgment where the lost are tossed into the lake of fire.

No this is the Bema seat where we will give an account of what we are doing/have done with the talents He gave us.

Peter says we are to Live for Him, to be Holy as He is  Holy and Peter knows a bit about the failures and rejecting Christ.

Yet Peter also knows about the victories and being faithful. He can truly tell us what is needful for the Christian in this world.

He says what is needful is that we realize we are bought with a price, a terrible price paid out of Love for us.

To honor that price, that Sacrifice we freely give ourselves to His Service and for that we live, knowing one day we will hear well done Thou good and faithful servant.
