Jdg 4:8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
Jdg 4:9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
I was thinking of all the times the Bible tells us of little actions that had enormous consequences.
Barak tells Deborah I will go but only if you do to. Barak lost all the honor with that one statement it went instead to a woman named Jael who by chance, saw a chance to act and did so.
1Ki 22:34 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
a certain soldier, by chance, shot an arrow and killed a king.
Jdg 9:53 And a certain woman cast a piece of a millstone upon Abimelech's head, and all to brake his skull.
Jdg 9:54 Then he called hastily unto the young man his armourbearer, and said unto him, Draw thy sword, and slay me, that men say not of me, A woman slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died.
A certain woman cast a piece of a millstone from a tower and by chance managed to hit and kill Abimelech.
A certain widow gave her two mites and is now praised through all the world, in all the centuries for her gift.
A certain young maid happens to be in Naaman's employ and she tells him of the man of God. By chance she was where she could do some good.
God can use the least little act and make it ring through the ages. The widow, the harlot Rahab, the murderer Moses, God can use anyone.
It is amazing what God can use when the heart of man is His. It is amazing what God can do when His people act on the nudging of the Spirit, Peter, 5000 saved, Paul, a crew and all the prisoner's saved. Philip, witnesses to the Eunuch, Stephen witnesses to Saul of Tarsus through his death.
God can use anything we do.
Stay faithful stay true and God can use you too. Just as Moses, if you fall God can still use you. Just as Peter if you get depressed and "retire", God can still use you.
Too young, too old, too tired, too insecure, too mild, too bold God can use you.
