It is that time again, where the end of the world is proclaimed and all of the Christian world starts searching prophecy to see if today is the day.
I cringe every time this trend pops up, all we have done is water it down though, by the date setters, the predictors, and the false prophets who do not understand that only the Father knows.
People have gotten so desensitized to the end of the world cries that it has lost it's value, it's shock factor.
There is one way and one way only to ensure the quick return of Christ.
Preach the Gospel, to all the earth. all the nooks and crannies, all the plains, the mountains, the sea shore and everything in between.
We are called to prepare for the rapture, not for the 2nd coming.
Preaching the Gospel to a lost and dying world is the primary task af any and all who call themselves Christian.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
We are told that God will keep His Word to take the church out, but we must preach the Gospel for Christ died that all (ALL) might come to repentance.
How shall they come to Christ if they have not heard? How shall they hear if we do not tell them?
We have in person church, we have internet church, we have radio, we have tv, we have more ways than ever to reach the World with the Gospel. Yet, I believe it has weakened us a people. We have allowed everything to do our job for us. We live in a bubble, we see all the ones we know hearing the Gospel, Listening to Gospel music and we think our job is done.
It is not. For they will not come to us.
Where I live we have 20 Baptist churches within 20 minutes of me, yet one has a sunday night service, one has a wednesday night. That is it. If we can not be bothered to have a church service then why would we expect them to be concerned or to show up? If we are only open for one hour a week how will they reach us?
Can you imagine the outcry if we Christians could only get gas or groceries once a week for an hour only?
I live in the Bible Belt and it has come loose and allowed the pants to fall. There is no Bible in this area of the belt. I now know why God brought me out here, yet even I sometimes look around and see my bubble-protected world and think all is well.
Get your eyes off your world and look out into the Harvest. Get your eyes out into the World and see a people lost and dying and going to Hell. Jesus Himself knows this and He tells us the Harvest is great and the workers few. It has only gotten worse in the last few years.
Luk 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
