Est 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
This has been on me for several weeks, but once again I have put it off for various reasons. I do not think I can do a subject on my heart justice, or give full eloquence to it, or that I am not worthy to put forth God's Word.
While I know all the arguments for and against it is still something that plagues me.
Now to the subject at hand, and please know I am staying out of the political climate of today for this one.
This is truly and honestly one that needs to be directed at all Christians.
How many of you believe that we are in the last days, that Christ's return is truly imminent?
We know the last days began when Christ ascended into heaven. We know that we have been in the final countdown now for 2000 years yet every day we live is another day closer to the return of Christ. While we may be overjoyed to be taken out, just remember what will happen to those left behind.
We have read the final chapter, we know how this ends, but are we acting like it?
I do not think we are heeding the warning, listening to the call of the Spirit as we should.
I am fully of the opinion that if we were not so complacent in our security, our safety, our eternal salvation (please note I did not say convinced of but complacent in eternal salvation) we would be out there day in and day out witnessing proclaiming the impending doom of the world.
I understand that Christianity has been hampered by the date-setters, those both living and dead who have cried wolf too many times.
The world has hardened their hearts to the return of Christ but we know it is a sure and certain thing.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
We also know that any who hear the Word and reject it before the rapture, once the rapture happens and the tribulation starts they will never ever receive it.
We also know that if they reject the Word once, we need to speak it again and again and again, If we do not then we are complicit in their residence in the lake of fire for all eternity.
We have the truth, the cure for the ills of men yet we sit on it. We are going to answer one day for not leaving our comfort, our easy chairs, our life of luxury.
How many don't speak out for fear of losing their job or offending their friends and family?
Better they are offended now than to be cast into the lake of fire.
Mat 11:6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
We must not be offended in Christ, if they persecute you, quit talking to you, alienate you that is better by far than you never witnessing, never planting the seed. For if the seed is at least planted it may still grow. I imagine that when we stand at the final judgment, and watch those we did not tell of Christ and give them the opportunity to receive Him we will know, they will know, and we shall weep.
Esther was raised perhaps for a time such as this, a time to deliver the Jews from wickedness and extermination.
We the Christians of this nation may have been raised for such a time as this, to be a light to a lost and dying world.
A time of apostasy, moral ambiguity, sin, depravity, perversions run rampant through out this world
We are the only thing that stands between pure godlessness and the Holy, Living God.
We are the only Light that they will ever see, yet we have extinguished that light, left the politicians and the courts to determine what is right and wrong. then when they decide wrong instead of right we raise our hands and look to the sky and pass the buck to God.
You say we care, we don't pass the buck, we are praying.
Where are the street preachers?
The tent meeting?
The all night prayer vigils?
The stand that took place for prohibition?
you say But covid, I say but Hell awaits them.
Such a time as this.
We presume that this is the only time the world has ever been this immoral, this ungodly, yet we would be wrong. However, now is not the time to reflect on what was, but to press on to what is and what will be. To make the future whether here or in Heaven brighter and more certain for the world.
2Pe 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
What manner of person should you and I be? One that is proclaiming the Gospel, both by Word and by example to all who would see and hear.
What manner of person are you for such a time as this?
Do you believe we are in the last days?
If you do, and I mean truly believe, looking to the skies every moment for Christ then you MUST live for them, and if necessary die for them.
The alternative for them is far to grim and dark for us to not be giving it our all.
Charles peace the morning of his execution:
On the morning of his execution, Peace ate a hearty breakfast of eggs and salty bacon and calmly awaited the coming of the public executioner, William Marwood, inventor of the "long drop". He was escorted on the death-walk by the prison chaplain, who was reading aloud from The Consolations of Religion about the fires of hell. Peace burst out "Sir, if I believed what you and the church of God say that you believe, even if England were covered with broken glass from coast to coast, I would walk over it, if need be, on hands and knees and think it worthwhile living, just to save one soul from an eternal hell like that!"[2] Peace was buried in Armley Gaol. He was 46 years old.
A godless man, lived a sinful life, an evil life heard the gospel but not (as far as I know) until the morning of his execution.
Then he decries the lack of effort on those that believe. For truly if we believed what we preached wholeheartedly, we would do any and all in our power, no matter the consequences on earth to make sure they heard this message with eternal consequences.
Then at the Great day of judgment how many will look at us and decry us for not telling them, as we stand there with pierced hearts, weeping eyes and know we did not live up to our calling in such a time as this.
Are you raised for such a time as this?
