Luk 18:32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:
Luk 18:33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.
Luk 18:34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
Christ plainly told them He was going to the cross here, yet hid the meaning from them so they knew it not.
Joh 13:26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
Joh 13:27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
1Co 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
The disciples did not know, satan did not know, the chief priest did not know.
You ask how do I know satan didn't know? because satan did all he could to get Christ to the cross. If he did all he could to get Him there, then he did not know the full ramifications.
I have said a lot of times that we give satan too much credit, that we give him more than his due of the blame.
God knows past, present, and future, satan knows the present and the past and that is it. God hid the true meaning of the cross from all but Himself until after the Resurrection of Christ.
Sometimes the technical glitch is just a glitch, sometimes a flat tire is just a flat tire.
Don't get me wrong satan is an agent of chaos, evil and against God totally and completely.
He is working against us as well, yet he is finite, limited.
1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pe 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Your adversary, the devil. Every christian who ever lived has an adversary in the devil, a very dangerous yet limited adversary.
Before the pandemic and the fear brought about by it, we were living in a perpetual state of me.
We lost focus of both God and satan. We were doing fine all on our own and gave passing thought to both.
Now that we are in the midst of a crisis I am seeing a lot more eyes on heaven, I am reading a lot more spreading of the Word.
More people have allowed Him back into their daily thinking, at least from an outside perspective.
The question that arises is what to do after this? Do we go back to the way we are and forget the introspection, the increase of time we spent with Him?
We have a savior. We have an adversary.
Are you taking the time to re-acquaint yourself with the one, whilst building your armor for the other?
Soon we will be back out there, be sure you are giving satan his due. And no more.
Be sure that your eyes are on the prize and not on the earthly.
Be sure you are paid up and prayed up, ready for the skirmishes to come.
