ok we had our national day of prayer for the covid-19. We had the cry of the people go out to the heavens, That was 2 weeks ago.
So what happened? where did the answer not come from? Why did the answer not come? Or did it?
We made a big deal of the prayers, the President called for a national day of prayer, churches broadcast-ed prayers, The pope stood in a deserted vatican square and prayed. We made a big show of it all around the world.
Was it just that a show?
I won't go into if it was just a show for I do not know the hearts of those that prayed. Whether they prayed for the listeners or for the God of the Universe to answer.
Whether it was a look at me as I pray or if it was a fervent effectual prayer of righteous men.
I won't call into question the sin of man for that is a given.
I won't call into question the God of all hearing, He knows it already, sees it before we do, the only reason He would not have heard is because of us and our sin/pride/unbelief..
I won't call into question the sincerity of the people of God, the ones who have never faced hardship, only His blessings. The ones who forgot God because they had money, medicine, science and all they needed, except for a true relationship with and a heart for God.
I will not call into question the easy believing, or the prosperity crowd, The faith healers or the positive thinkers smiling as they collect their checks.
I will not question the people of God who forgot their God amidst their blessings.
I will not question the heart of the people who have lived for themselves alone for years.
So if I don't question those people where does that leave us?
God has 3 answers to prayer, the same as any parent.
Yes no and maybe.
Everyone out there that is quoting 2 Chron 7:14, are you emphasizing the if my people which are called by my name, or the next part shall HUMBLE themselves.
I did a post on this and a sunday school presentation of it as well.
We the people do not know what humility is.
Why is there no answer to our prayers?
I don't know.
Only the person in the mirror can tell us that.
For that is where (my opinion) the problem lies.
In our hearts in our intent in our prayer.
Jas 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
God may have said wait, God may have said no.
God may have said ask again.
At one point God told Moses not to pray for the people as God had turned from them.
At one point God told paul my grace is sufficient for your problem which was a no for Paul.
At one point God had shut the Heavens to the prayer of the people.
At one point God made the world go without any Word for 400 years.
I do not know nor will I pretend to have the answers.
NO ONE ELSE DOES either.
We didn't get an immediate yes, so are we at a no or a maybe?
Only you can answer that question for your prayers, just as I can only answer for me.
Man can not know the mind of God, nor why He did or did not do something. We can only ask.
Jas 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Jas 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
