John 3:16

A thought occurred to me last night, what is the most quoted verse in the Bible?
John 3:16.
Who is speaking?
Jesus.
Profound insight follows.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus, while He is the Son of God, He is truly God Incarnate.
Jesus is speaking of Himself, about His Love.
This equates to one of the most autobiographical statements of all time. For God (Jesus) so loved the World.
For God Loved us so much that He Himself came to this earth to die and prepare the way for us.
For God who did nothing wrong, loved His creation so much that He shed the Glory of Heaven, the adoration of all the heavens to come to this dirty planet and die. For us. For you. For me.

That whosoever believeth on Him. Whomsoever.
He did not come and die just for a few, just for one, just for a specific set of people but for all, in totality.
There is no one who can not call on the name of Jesus, on the God of Creation and not be saved. All have the opportunity. From the youngest child to the oldest sinner.
All. This encompasses All, everyone, no one is excluded.
I am not sure how else to say it that would be any better than what was said already.
ALL.

That whosoever believeth, that is all that is required.
Perhaps the simplest of acts is to believe but one of the hardest things most will ever do.
For we must step out of logic, out of man's wisdom, out of the strength of our own bodies and into the helpless state of a 4 or 5 year old.
Into a mindset that truly understands that we can do nothing, we can provide nothing to achieve this salvation.
We must understand and acknowledge that God paid the price, that we need that payment applied to us and that there is no other thing that will save us from condemnation.
No matter how satan tries to complicate it, no matter how man tries to work around it, dilute it or just plain ignore it.
It is a very simple truth.
The sheer simplicity of it makes it so hard for most to understand. For God did it all.

Why is this so hard for man? Because man has tried for thousands of years to prove that he (man) is the ultimate authority, that he (man) answers to no one but himself.
God has created us, God provided us all we need to live, and now He has provided all we need to live eternally.
And all He wants out of it is for you and me to be with Him in eternity. To fellowship, to walk and talk. To sit at the table and have a meal together.
God wants us to be His.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Perhaps that is why it is so hard because man can not understand someone doing something for nothing. Especially something so drastic as laying down His very life for us and wanting nothing, needing nothing in return, but for us to believe in Him.
The Jews were given the Law, they could not live by it.
The religious leaders even corrupted that Law.
This was our example that man could not do it by works, or willpower, or of themselves.
God gave us a Law that was intended to point us to Him, our need for Him. But that was corrupted.

So God came down and died for us.

He also clearly explained to us His actions, His reasons, His very thought process simplified for our limited minds to grasp.

How much more do you need to see and hear before you call upon Him?
Try Him, test Him, call out to Him today and see if He doesn't respond.
God so loved the world.
That He gave His only begotten Son.
That whomsoever.
Believeth.
Should not perish.
But have everlasting life.

John 3:16

The simplest words ever gave to us by God Himself to explain to us our way to Him.

He created, He came and died, and He explained it all for us.

No one else has ever, will ever do 1/32 of that for you free of charge.

No One.
