The greatest of all the mysteries and the greatest of all the miracles but the least understandable form a human standpoint is that Jesus is calling you and me.
He seeks us out.
He looks for us.
Think about this.
1. God made us.
2. We sinned.
3. God came to earth lived as we do, suffered what we suffer and then laid down His life for us that we might have life as He does. He came to us.
4. He gave us the Word, the Holy Spirit to aid us in our daily life.
5, After He did all that, He did not rest. He continues to search out souls to come to Him.
1Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us
Have you ever had anyone do everything for you? Have you ever had someone provide a way out of your mistakes that you could not?
Have you ever had anyone suffer and die for you?
Have you ever had some one love you so much that they gave all for you?
1Pe_3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Most of us still don't fully understand the cost or the why as yet.
The cost to God of creating us and then having to redeem us in such a terrible manner. Nor do we understand the why. Why would He do that? Why would He pay that ultimate price? Why didn't He just obliterate us and start all over?
Some of us parents can understand a little but we can never fully comprehend when you stop and consider it was done for a bunch of ungrateful humans who forget about Him as soon as they can.
Jdg 10:6 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not him.
God has been misrepresented, He has been forgotten, disavowed, and totally betrayed by humans for thousands of years.
Yet 6000 years into this plan of His He stayed true to His timetable and came to earth and died for us. People who had no idea who He was/is.
He came and they rejected Him.
He died and they blasphemed and scorned Him.
He rose again and they lied about Him.
He lives today and He is still being rejected, scorned, blasphemed, and betrayed.
Yet through it all God has called us. You and me. He has stayed loyal and constant through out.
Have you ever really stopped and considered the depth of Love that must take?
Have you ever truly in your mind stopped to consider all the sacrifice, all the pain that we have caused our Father?
Have you ever truly dwelt upon the subject until your heart and soul ache for all the wrong you have caused Him?
He is a Father. Our Father and we have sorely distressed Him.
Have you ever cried out Forgive me?
I don't just mean at the time of Salvation if you know Him as your savior.
I mean at any time have you truly stooped to understand the depths of His Love and the pain that we must have caused Him during our time on earth?
I was probably a massive cause of distress to Him, and never once in my foolishness did I stop to consider all that I have put Him through.
Do you remember the day when you realized truly what your parents did for you? The cost, the lost sleep, the anguish of not knowing if you would come home or not?
The God of the universe, The Creator of it all has spent so much more time, so much more resources, so much more life on you than you can possibly understand.
Even today He calls us to Him
Even today after all that we have put Him through He still stands and waits for us to come home.
Have you truly thought it through?
He calls you.
Even though you do not know Him, He calls you.
Even though you do not need Him, He calls you.
Even though the World denounces Him, He calls them.
Even now He stands at the door and knocks, waiting for you to answer.
Rev_3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
The God of the Universe, who created it all wants to spend time with you. Wants to know you.
That is love.
