Reconnect revive and rejoice

I found myself singing along to tis so sweet to trust in Jesus. At one point it says and I know Thou art with me wilt be with me to the end.
Yet how often do we feel as if He isn’t there?
When you listen to the old Hymns there is a message in the songs not just mindless singing. Listen read and know the words.

The old rugged cross Do we cling to it?
Sweet hour of prayer? more like sweet minute.
In the garden, do we go to our garden to meet with the Lord?
Victory in Jesus, do we have victory or Worry? fear or faith?
Standing on the promises, really? Most don't know the promises of God.

You get my point.

We have become a shallow, mindless worship people. We have dumbed down our Bibles, our music, and our God.
We have let go of our rich history, our strong faith.
We feel today that we can say I am a christian and that passes for witnessing.

That old time religion has become  anathema. It is now a quick fix of church and back to our daily lives.
When was the last time you did not hear a pastor say he would be short due to time constraints?

I remember listening to men who didn't care about time but about the message of God.
When di we get to a 10-12 service being the norm?
What happened to the all day event?

Act 2:46  And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Act 2:47  Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

They continued daily in the temple. What is the church but out temple? yet we can barely be asked to attend and hour without looking at our watches.

God worked mighty works in the New Church, mainly because the people had hearts for the Word of God. Didn't they have to work to eat? Didn't they have families, school, trials and troubles? Yet daily they were in the Temple worshiping and praising.
It doesn't say what time of day. It says Daily.
They had the same cares and concerns that we do today.

Have we gotten too busy or have we lost our fervor? has comfort taken away our drive?

We pray for His Will then we hope His Will doesn't make us get up.

We have lost our ability to hear the Word of God plain and true.
We have asked for it to be modified to fit into what we want it to be instead of what HE wants us to be.
When the Day of Pentecost hit it was a moving experience they remembered for the rest of their lives.
We have become so far removed from that day, from that experience.

We do not treat God or God's word, or the Hearing of God's Word with respect anymore.
We need some of that old time religion, some of that sweet hour of prayer,

We need to reconnect, revive, and rejoice.
