Prayer that didn't happen

I was listening to sermons from the past and a thought was given. In full disclosure I was listening to R.G. Lee and he said something that caught me and highlighted an area of my life to me.

What prayers did Not happen in the Bible?

We highlight the power of prayer so much, the great works that happen when fervent effectual prayer was applied.
But what about when it did not happen?

Did David pray when he saw Bathsheba bathing in the moonlight? 2 Sam 11:2
Did Abraham Pray when he went in to Hagar at his wife's behest to procure an heir? Gen 16:4
Did Saul pray before he went against God's Plan and offered the sacrifice himself? ! Sam 13:8
Did Judas pray before betraying Jesus? Luke 22:3

Not praying and seeking God cost David a son and a kingdom.
Not praying cost Abraham and the rest of the world a division that stands to this day.
Not praying cost Saul his kingdom in only his second year of his reign.
Not praying cost Judas everything, his name is still anathema to this day.

Prayer is a powerful tool. It is a powerful weapon, and it is a powerful guide. We can talk to God, bolster our spirit, maintain our walk in the Spirit, and our testimony.

Not praying, that is a whole other thing.
Not praying has wreaked more havoc, caused more sin than any other inaction.
Lack of prayer can cause you to rely on your paycheck rather than the bounty of God.
It can cause you to move molehills rather than mountains in your own power.
It can wreck your legacy in a heartbeat causing you to live in shame and regret.

Not praying can lead nations, people astray to a powerless, ineffectual testimony. Not praying can lead to not just your downfall but also to you totally ignoring God and resting in your own abilities that are fatally limited.

Prayer is so powerful but the lack of prayer is just as powerful.
Prayer keeps you in a state of Communion with God, keeps you focused on Him and His Will.
A lack of prayer will keep you in a failed state of misery rather than a state of victory.

There is a verse that says pray without ceasing. this doesn't mean always on your knees, always eyes closed. It means to always maintain a right spirit of communion with God, always keep the line open both ways. You may ask God to do something and HE may lay something on your heart at a moments notice.
If the prayer line is open you can also tell the difference between the Spirit's prompting and the temptation of the devil.
Never forget that old snake will quote scripture, will dress as an angel of light, but that does not mean he is good, you need the fact checking of the Holy Spirit to make sure you know which is which.

The lack of prayer.  It is an issue. The Spirit will tell you.
The examples set before us in the Scriptures will tell us.
The failures of men will tell us of the lack of prayer. The sin of man will tell us of the lack of prayer.
The unhappiness in the world will tell you of the lack of prayer.

Prayer and praise will cause joy, sense of purpose, a life of God's purpose and a good night's sleep with a clean conscience.
