Every now and then I will read news articles on the internet and then amuse myself by reading some of the posted comments below the article.
What is amusing to me is that any time Christians, Christ or God are mentioned the opinions come out hot and heavy.
It is amazing how many people want to take the bible and tell us that what the Word of God says is merely a stolen or adapted story from some ancient civilization.
How is it that the "ancients" are always so much smarter than we are today? How much more advanced they were in their thinking than we are today according to some of these commentators.
The virgin birth was taken from an ancient Sumerian, Moses' story was taken from the Phoenicians etc.
Why do they never accuse these "ancients" of ripping off the Bible? Why is it that our Bible is always downplayed but fables and myths are quoted as fact?
All these other gods ask you to prove yourself, my God tells me to prove Him.
These others gods demand sacrifice, My God gave Himself as the Sacrifice.
False gods demand you live for them, My God gives you the choice.
Other gods are all about themselves, My God is all about Us.
Other gods want you to work to be good enough, live to be righteous and maybe you might be good enough, My God gave me of His Righteousness knowing I would never be good enough.
Other religions have rules and laws, strict diets, even stricter ways to enter paradise that are impossible to achieve and require something from you.
My God merely requires you believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mat_7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
2Pe_2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Why is there such an aversion to Christianity? Why is there so much push back against Christianity?
Could it be because the truth hurts? Because satan knows that Christ is the way the truth and the life? Satan uses all these other false religions, false theologies like humanism, prosperity theory, pantheism, atheism, communism, evolution to dilute the minds of man. To subvert the weak minded and give them some sort of "reason" or rationalization against God Jehovah and His Son.
1Jn_4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
False prophets and false teachers are found out when you know God's Word, when you study the Word, and when you try what they say against the Bible in your hands.If they go against God, if they try to add to or take away from salvation they are false.
Take my advice and anyone who writes or preaches and teaches should always be tested against the Word of God. Everyone makes mistakes, but you will know the difference between a mistake and a false prophet if you check them against the Word of God. Remember even satan quotes scripture but he never quoted all of it, just enough to confuse things.
God loves you, Christ died for you. He has promised to never leave or forsake you as a believer. He has promised you the believer a home in heaven, to be forever with Him.
He didn't promise wealth, health, 2 cars in every garage, success, an untroubled life on this earth.
In fact He tells us if we believe on Him we will have troubles and sorrows on this earth. We will be persecuted.
be careful when listening to other people to pay attention to what they say, then check it against the inviolate Word of God. The God Breathed Holy Bible, The Living Word.
