Election build up and post periods.

I am watching these protesters and the vitriol directed at Trump and his voters.
Folks are mad he won, they are freaking out.
At first I was in shock they are behaving like that.
Then it hit me. I was freaking out before the election. Praying constantly worrying about what was going to happen if Hillary won.
I too had fallen prey to fear and worry about what our government would do or be.
I am supposed to know better.
It seems that ,possibly, I am human given to the same fears and worry and hype.
I had fallen into the trap of forgetting my God is still on the throne. He is still God. No matter who got elected, no matter what party is in power.
We are under those in authority and subject to them.
However, they are under God. They are still in His purview.
This applies to the church hierarchy as well as the secular one.

Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Rom 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Rom 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same

I understand why these folks are freaking out. They have been mislead and lied to about the newly elected president. They have taken their eyes off the heavens and followed blindly. They have placed too much faith into government because government has so entwined itself into our every day lives.

I was in the same boat but not quite to the same extent.
I was able to come to my senses quickly and remember God is forever, government is not.

God still is in charge, He will be long after I am gone from the face of this earth.

I must keep my eyes on Him even as I follow daily events here. We are not to be blissfully ignorant of this world.

We are to keep our eyes on Jesus as we go through this world secure in the knowledge that all is in His hands.

No matter what happens He must sign off on it.

No one man or woman is going to make this world better. Only Christ can do that.

The sad part is I knew this even as I was worried about the election. I lost sight of the big picture.

God and His Work is the big picture, all else is just filler.
