The Holy Spirit.
Who is He?
How did He get here?
What does He do?
The Holy Spirit sent to us after Christ died, was buried, rose again and ascended up to the Heavens.
Here is the who.
John 14:26KJV
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
His arrival.
Acts 2:1-8 KJV
1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilæans? 8And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Here is an important side note. At the tower of Babel God caused men to talk in different languages and to disperse from one big society. Here He is uniting men, making it so they could all hear the call for them to come to Him in their own language. God caused them to hear in their own tongues, so they could hear the call to repentance, not in some undiscernible gibberish.
What He does
Romans 8:26-27 KJV
26Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Now we know God is 3 persons, the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
What we do not know is how to use, access the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 4:30-32KJV
30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
This tells us how to behave towards our Christian brothers and sisters. How not to grieve the Spirit.
We are not to cause commotions, strife
Gossip, contentions. The Holy Spirit wants one mind among the church. The Mind full in tune with God and His Will.
How do we access the power of the Holy Spirit?
Through prayer, through study, and through purpose together.
Only a united church can stand against the wiles of the devil. Only a united church body can stand against sin and the gates of Hell.
The church body, the followers of Christ need to unite. We need to stand against sin. We need to get back to actions and consequences. We need accountability to one another, accountability to God. We need to unite and stand, that is how we access the Holy Spirit and His power. When we get up and stand strong in prayer and God's Word, strong in faith and unity then we will have the power of the Spirit!
