Your interpreter in the scriptures

Ok you didn't go to Bible College, you are not a theologian, the mysteries of God confound you. You feel as if you just can't make out all the "deep" parts.
Welcome to the club!
The Bible is not meant to confuse or be "over your head".  The Bible is the Word of God, things He wants you to know.
God wants you to know His Word. He wrote it just for you.
The Word of God is deep, it is theological, it is a mystery, But it is not hard to read and understand.
God wrote His Holy Word with the true seeker of Him to find. To study. To read and re-read. God wants you to daily search His Word, there are parts that I have read since I learned to read that still bring new things to me that I missed the first 20 or 30 times.
For instance the sermon on the mount was preached to a select group of people not the multitudes.

Matthew 5-7King James Version (KJV)

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

I was 30 before I saw that. I always thought it was to the multitudes.

The Apostle John in 1 John 2:20 tells us:
20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

This "unction" is an anointing of the Holy Spirit, it helps us to know the truths God wants to tell us. It also lets us know when the person who is putting forth the Word to us is telling the truth. The Spirit guides as we read and study the Word and He also shows us when someone is telling us wrong.
You do not have to go to Bible College, you do not need any man to teach you, you do not need commentaries though they are helpful from the right teachers.
You are a child of God, He wants to talk to you. The God of this Universe wrote it especially for YOU.
He also warns of novices, those who think they know yet are still unlettered in the full truth of the Gospel. He warns you of false teachers, of liars who will lead you astray. Always check those who are putting forth the Word against the Holy Word in your hand.
God has given you the second greatest gift (the first is His Son dying in our stead) and He has given you the tools to read and understand it. God has given us the Truth and the translator to correctly divide and understand that Word.
2 Timothy 2:15KJV

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

The question now is what are you doing with it?
Are you sharing? Are you using your knowledge of the Word of God to His purpose? The great thing about the Holy Word is it is to ALL men most profitable.
But how will they know unless we teach them?
You may not be a teacher, preacher, or evangelist in title but you are one in deed.
Spread the message that God has given you. The power of understanding that He has anointed you with is there for a reason. Use it to further the Truth, to spread the Good News...
