46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
Christ at the tender age of 12 was in the Temple going about His Father's business. I know that He is God and therefore far more capable than we, more knowledgeable, and here for a specific purpose that He was aware of.
We on the other hand search and search for God's Will, for our purpose in His great grand plan.
The praying and fretting, the indecisiveness, the uncertainty. We do not have the awareness and the foreknowledge Christ had.
So what are we to do? We must be about our Father's business. There is an old proverb that the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.
I think it is the same in God's work too. Too find your path, your place in His Will you must step out and start the journey.
Once you are moving God will open or close the doors He sees fit to. However, the key is to be moving. Inertia is not your friend.
Step out, start your journey. It is easier for Him to nudge you in a different direction
Once you get moving you can change direction, sitting still you will never accomplish anything.
