Worthlessness means no worth, no use for, no purpose, ready for the trash heap.
How many times I have asked Him how He could die for me, how He could love me knowing me as I do. I can not understand the why of it, I can not understand the love behind it. I can merely accept it and try to be more like Him.
Throughout the scriptures there are examples of many who felt the same way, unworthy of the God we serve and His Love.
David, Peter, Saul/Paul....
David penned the Psalms and was king of a nation yet he felt completely unworthy to stand before the throne of Grace.
Peter was responsible for thousands upon thousands coming to know Christ. He performed many miracles through the power of Christ. When they came to crucify him He felt unworthy to even die as Christ did, and insisted on being upside down.
Paul the greatest missionary, and most prolific author in the New Trstament, called himself the chief of sinners.
Perhaps when you are bemoaning the fact that you are unworthy you might want to stop and think, we are all truly unworthy. That is why His sacrifice was so vital.
It is when you feel you have a right, a claim on God because you deserve it that you need to start worrying.
For now rest in the fact that sinners saved by grace have the ability to go before God because He made it possible.
That we are worthy to stand before the Throne of Grace, not because of us,but because of Him and His great Love.
It is our privilege to stand before Him, to bring our petitions to Him, that privilege being bought with His blood.
Not of ought that I have done but because He died for me.
