Lately I have had the opportunity to get the Word of God out through an online radio station, through this blog, and through Live Broadcasts from our Church. Now, I do not preach in the Church I attend I merely facilitate the spread of the Gospel from our church.
harbor.listen2myradio.com - online radio station with preaching from evangelists, pastor, missionaries. Plus Music from those services. However, the real encouragement (for me anyways) is the singing of Nannie Robinson I have sprinkled in amongst the sermons. She sang in the church till the week before she died at the ripe old age of 92(i think). I miss her. We all do.
safeharborbaptistchurch.net - We have videos, special music, links to helpful websites for the christian faith. singing from our church, individual messages from the pulpit, nannie's music, calendar of church events, live stream broadcast page with the recorded service (s) so far just one, Plus videos of our church folks in slideshows as we fellowship and eat. We are baptists so food is a prominent part of any gathering.
However, throughout all of this that I do I found the greatest joy in witnessing personally. The other day I went to a store to pick up an item I needed, and ended up in a short conversation with the person at the counter. I mentioned the friends and family breakfast we have every month on the first Saturday, I invited them to come out to meet the church, and it opened the door!
The employee started on how they fell out of the faith, and need to get back into it, We all make mistakes and fall out every now and again. It is part of being human.
However, when we fall out God never leaves, we wander away as lost sheep. He must come to find us as we of our own accord generally will tend to stay out in the dark places. God then sends the Good Shepherd Jesus to find us through emissaries, witness, and the Holy Spirit nudging us.
It was my pleasure to talk to the young person and hope and pray that God will give me another opportunity as it was a joy. It brought me happiness pure and simple. I drove away thanking God for the chance and then I called about 5 people to tell them of the incident.
I have started asking God to give me the chance to Witness, to talk about Him. Guess what? HE Did!
The joy of witnessing is immense. When you get that nudge to talk, to witness do not stifle it. God may be giving you the chance to get a blessing and witness. You may be the one who is gonna help that one back to the fold. Or you may be the one He wants to introduce Christ to them. Take something simple like an event at church to open the door.
On the flip side you may be the one person between them and an eternity in Hell.
Witness. Be the light of the world. If you can't talk then carry tracts, or point them to good solid christian teaching and preaching. But do not stifle it. Make sure you get the JOY of witnessing. It will change you.
John 9:4-5 KJV
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
