O taste and see that the Lord is good

Psalm 34:8

King James Version (KJV)
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Why is God, church, and religion being marginalized in today's western society. The philosophy of the 1960's and 70's was "if it feels good do it."
We seem to have taken that motto, slogan to dizzying new heights.
Why does it seem more people are calling God invisible and imaginary?
We as Christians know why. Because satan the old snake has power on earth. But how is he doing this?

Liberal progressives are moving ever farther into social depravity and trying to drag the western world down with it. Pedophilia, homosexuality, perversity is now welcomed and accepted in all forms in the modern world.
Politicians are doing more and more to grab power and become rulers instead of representatives. They are trying to keep the people in chaos and indebtedness to the government. They want you to worship them and be thankful to them.
Science is being touted as factual and true when it is opinion and has lost it's first objective of observing. They are now using computer models based on their data and their way of thinking to "project" what MIGHT happen. Computers are not self-thinking they only know what you tell them.
Video games, phones, internet are the focal points of communication  and interaction instead of the open exchange of thoughtful debate and quiet meditation on who am I - why am I here. Kids and young adults today have no idea what it means to introspect, they only know outward projection and entertainment. They are wise in their own conceits because they do not know the true God.

Why does this happen? How did it happen?

Simple. We have moved from a thoughtful, loyal, community based society to an individualistic, selfish people.
Once we removed God from our daily lives we opened ourselves to the influence of the devil and the promotion of the idea that Humans are the final authority.
We have cheapened life through abortion, videogames, violent movies that all show a lack of the sacredness of each life. We have taken the power of giving and ending life from God in our own minds (He still is final authority).
We no longer openly witness, we no longer proselytize and disciple.
God in His infinite wisdom gave us Solomon as an example of excess. Solomon spent his life womanizing, acquiring treasures, building a temple.
Yet at the end of his life he states:

Ecclesiastes 1

King James Version (KJV)
The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.
Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?
One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.
The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.
12 I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.
13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.
14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Solomon found that at the end of the day all that matters is that which he does for the Lord. God provides our daily needs,  He knows what will make us happy and satisfy us. Not in the moment, we all have moments and times of strife and trouble but He sees the broad view and knows how to make us happy far better than we do.

Ecclesiastes 2:24-26KJV

24 There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.
25 For who can eat, or who else can hasten hereunto, more than I?
26 For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

We have lost the search for God, for His will, for His approval. God does not want big palatial churches. Not that there is anything wrong with that. He wants individuals, groups turned to Him seeking Him.
Our world is turned from Him. Taste and see... Sample the goodness of God. Trust in Him for your needs and wants. He will bring you happiness far greater than you or I could possibly imagine.
The people of today need a personal (key word here) Personal relationship with Christ. God wants you to know Him, To talk to Him to praise Him, to bring Him your daily troubles, to bring Him your worries, your goals your wants and needs.
When you turn yourself wholly over to Him He shall make you and mold you into a vessel fit for Him. And when you start fully trusting in Him you shall find peace. You shall find purpose.

That is why the social degradation is happening in the western world. We have turned our backs on our God. We no longer know what it means to commune with God. We no longer go to the garden alone to talk with Him and to let Him talk to us.

Taste and see that the Lord is good. He is God. He can direct your path and take you to new heights of joy. Lose the confusion, the pain, the search for yourself. Stop looking for satisfaction in the world, in yourself, in your sin. Find Jesus Christ who died for you when you did not even exist, He loves you like no one else ever will. He wants you to have life and to have it more abundantly through Him. He wants you to come home. He wants you to be all you can be in Him. His yoke is not heavy, His burden is light. There is no judgment in Him, no condemnation. He loves you despite what you have done, where you have been. He will forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
Come to Christ and know that He will shape your life and your mind through love, His Holy Spirit will guide you and lead you to the peace that passes all understanding. He is the reason we are here. We are here for His pleasure, His Will. The creator of the universe wants you.......what an honor that is that God is mindful of you. Be mindful of Him. Join Him. And know that the Lord He is good.
