The National Day of Prayer: Did you participate?

Today was the day officially set aside nationally for prayer. A day of repentance and re-dedicating ourselves to the Lord. A day to bring our petitions before God for our family, city, state, country, government, and sins.

Did you participate or did you merely shrug it off as a day that means nothing? Did you feel that one more prayer, one more voice was not going to stem the tide in the immoral, chaotic nation we have?
Do not underestimate the power of one voice:

Abraham was one man and He talked God into sparing Sodom and Gomorrah if He could find 10 righteous men. Of course there were not 10 righteous men in those immoral cities.

Nehemiah was one man and he got permission to rebuild Jerusalem from a king that was holding the Jewish people as slaves.

Hanna was one woman praying, her answered prayer led to the greatest prophet of them all in Samuel.

Elijah was one man against 400 and his prayer stopped a drought, and vanquished all the false prophets of baal at one time.

The power of one voice in accord with others is a powerful tool. God hears and answers, when there is a concerted effort and a common mindset God is then fully aware of how much this is on our minds, our hearts. Sure He knows what we need, Yes He can solve all things, but He is waiting for us to come to Him and talk to Him. To show Him we are willing to pray and submit ourselves to Him.
God created us for fellowship and communion. He created us for His pleasure and for the joy of spending time with us. How can He not hear us? If He hears our concerns from our own lips, what's troubling us, do you think He won't answer? He is God and He has promised to hear us.

2 Chronicles 7:14

King James Version (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We know that the power over the earth has been handed to the snake satan. We also know that God is far more powerful than all the principalities, powers, governments, and darkness. God still has ALL authority over this earth and these peoples.

Never sell yourself short. You matter to God. Your prayer matters to Him. As a child of His He wants to know what your needs, doubts, fears, wants, troubles are. He wants to hear your praise of Him, your thanks for all He has given and blessed you with.

When you vote you are one voice in the collective that forms an opinion and elects someone to an office of rule. The same goes when we pray on a day set aside for prayer. God hears, He knows a lot of people are still concerned, still fighting the good fight.

Also remember that one day a year isn't enough but it is a start. Set that day aside as a holy daily. Cleanse your heart, confess your sins, get right with God.

Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Perhaps if we can get that one day down, we can see the effects and feel the pleasure of conversing and communing with God. It may be the thing you need to get you moving to a right relationship with Him.

BUT whatever else you do remember God wants to hear from you not just on this day but everyday. Every Hour.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.

This verse specifically refers to a continual state of prayer, not a down on your knees thing. A mindset, and attitude of prayer.
When your driving turn the radio and phone off and talk to God. Take a walk and talk to Him.
There is a time to humble yourself before God on your knees. However, once you get to the start of the day and the processes thereof, walk and talk with God as you go about your day.
There is no answering machine, no on-hold times, no operators standing by.

He is waiting for you to visit Him.
