Every time I read something on the internet a news story, political story etc... I then proceed to read the comments below.
It is disheartening for a man of faith like myself to hear the comments some of the people post. more and more people are calling The Bible a book of tales and stories, myths and fables. Few are regarding it as the Word of God given to us from God to direct, teach, guide, exhort, uplift, comfort, and correct us.
Now those of us who read the Bible and study it know there is a time called the great falling away. A time when man shall stand in his own pride and say there is no God, there is no higher power than I. A time when they shall stand in their sins and self-righteousness and say "I am my own god." Throughout history we have slowly been distancing ourselves from God, every generation has been about 1 to 3 percent less faithful than the previous. However, in my generation we have seen about 50 percent. The advent of tv, the internet, radio, and other entertainment devices have added to this self-involvement that we are too blinded to look around this world and see what's going on. The great falling away is not indicated as to when it shall happen, so I can not state categorically that we are in it but this period here on earth shall do if we are not in it. I do not want to see the true falling away period if it gets worse than we are today.
We shall always have the faithful and righteous, but we are slowly being overwhelmed by the lack of morality. it has become more of a bell curve of morality rather than a straight line.
We started with watering down the Bible, revising and rewriting multiple times over to make it easier to comprehend (myth). Perversion of God's word. Then we started on the family - divorce became more acceptable, living together was then made to be a common thing. Then we started on getting God out of all facets of society. Gay marriage, rampant drug use, prescription drug abuse, pornography, alcoholism, atheism, false prophets, self-importance, Abortion(murder), video games violent and cheapening life, movies and tv programs that lessen attention spans and desensitize us to sin, music that is vulgar and all about self gratification, the loss of respect for absolutely anything and anyone, all have contributed. We have found more ways to pleasure and pervert ourselves, our lives, our children than ever before.
Romans 1:18-32KJV
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

In this chapter of Romans Paul is describing what is going on in his day, We have taken those things in this day and age and doubled down.
I heard someone say that God must apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah if He does not Judge us in this world today. And they were right.
Christ Himself told us of the last days He warned us of false prophets, men with silvery tongues that will lead away the easily befuddled.
Matthew 7:13-23
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

But there is good news. God is still in control. We know that He shall endure as shall His word, His mercy and His truth.
We have His Word that we are going to have a better life in Heaven forevermore.
We have to endure the great falling away, strive against it, try to stem the tide. It will get worse before it gets better. That old snake the devil has this world in thrall hence the travel down the wrong road.
To the born again soldier of Christ we know our struggles here are only temporary. That we will win the war eventually.
We have the Spirit still. We have prayer still. We have the Word of God still. We still have all the tools we need to mount an assault on this falling away. We may not be able to mount a full frontal assault but we can flank them, we can fight a guerilla warfare style battle and take back some.
In this great falling away I do believe more and more people shall sicken of the excesses. they shall need us to show them Christ more than ever as they will not find fulfillment in their actions, in the perversions.
They will be looking for something, they will have a void in their hearts and souls. We need to be ready to step in with the love of Christ, the Grace of God and tell them the good news that Christ died for them. That there is a life that is fulfilling without destroying themselves.
Get ready, we are in that battle. Gird yourselves with the armor of God. Prepare yourself to administer first aid to the wounded of the world.
There is a need, see what you can do to fill that need, to fix the wounds. The world is in need of Christ. Be the light. Be the foundation that doesn't crumble.
