The Centerpiece

I heard a glaring report given on someone the other day.... That they wouldn't be there because they only show up where they can be the center of attention. Now, of course you are gonna ask me how can I be suprised there are people like that out there. Well I aint.

 However, these are adults I am talking of. Respectable church serving adults..

That is what has started me up on this soapbox.

 How in this crazy world can a saved person put anything other than Christ first? We see what the absence of Christ does to people and the world.  

We also know Christ came as a servant. He did his Father's will, He washed the disciples' feet, And He gave His life for us.  That's a life of a servant. 

Folks let me tell you something... We need to be at our appointed place to help and to serve, not because of the credit, or the glory. Only because it is the right   thing to do. When there is a work day, when there is a church service, when there is an opportunity to be an example, even if it is setting up tables or vacuuming the floor. Whatever needs to be done, that is what we need to do.

I pray that anyone that feels it is beneath them or feels that they are too good gets a heart adjustment. Christ Himself did whatever it took for us. Why is it so hard for us to make Him our centerpiece?

So please take this to heart. Take time and look at what can be done. The only cost I want you to add is the eternal joy if that one person comes to Salvation. All we do should be shadowed with that thought. Don't ever worry about praise or applause or monetary reimbursement for your service here. 

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you. 

That is what should be the center of thought, motive, and effort. Our heavenly treasure.
