Lead on Lord

Many times when I sit here typing to work through an idea or thought I have so many directions to go in. The hard part is waiting on the leading of God and what He has to say. We make so much of the still small voice the leading of the Spirit and making sure what is said is fully in line with His WORD.

Mark 13:10-11

King James Version (KJV)
10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

This is fairly indicative that when the troubles and trials and accusers take you God will give you the words to speak.  Of course in this passage Christ is talking about the end times and what shall happen then. The Holy Spirit does lead and does give us the words to speak. We must follow His lead.

Charles Spurgeon in teaching his preachers in training used to stand at the door on the way in to the church and give students slips of paper that would be their subject for the message. Talk about on the spot preaching unprepared in front of one of the giants of pastoral history! No pressure!

But then when you stop and consider the process of spreading the word to the unsaved that is a far more daunting task.  You are having satan and the sin nature working against you not to mention the indifference of a sinner who may not know they need Christ as the Spirit may be talking to them yet they don't know that prodding.
This is why in all of my posts and thoughts I am so adamant on study and prayer. You can not bring the Word of God if you do not have it stored in your mind. Spontaneous preaching is a must for all Christians. The preacher and the layman the nursery worker the piano player and the pew sitter.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Psalm 119:10-12

King James Version (KJV)
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12 Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.

Now perhaps the easiest way to testify to a lost person is merely telling of your own story your testimony of how Our loving merciful God pulled you from the dark into the Light. More powerful words can not be spoken than an example a relatable subject a starting point.
Many times in this world we feel as if we are alone and no one knows what we are dealing with when in actuality the commonality of our problems and the chance to share may be why we have gone through theses problems.
God may be having us go through storms and trials and pain so that when we come through on the other side we may have someone waiting who is going through the same issue and we are there to understand and comfort.

I was teaching a Sunday school class one Sunday and all of a sudden I felt God tell me to stop and I started on the subject of how we all feel alone and isolated when a simple sharing of our problems will show many others have gone through the same and we are not alone except in our minds where we allow satan or ourselves to isolate us, that the biggest problem isn't what we are facing but our failure to seek fellowship and divulge to someone our problems due to pride. After the class I was approached by a man who said that he needed to hear that, that those thoughts were overwhelming him. Then when he saw that I had gone through the same situation with the same questions it made him realize that he wasn't alone and thanked me.
I did nothing there but followed the lead of the Holy Spirit.

Lead Me Lord

Dear Lord, as I look up to Thee,
The way of truth and Light I see
To guide me through each day and night
Lead me on, Oh God of might.

Though pitfalls many, all about,
I trust on Thee, to keep me out,
And faith will keep me every day,
But, Dear Lord, lead me all the way.
