This posting is for me.... I am thinking out loud decided to research and post my findings and thought processes in this forum.
After reading various opinions on this subject I have come to a conclusion: I like and prefer the KJV. Period. Of course I was born and raised and memorized and sword drilled all with the KJV. Folks say it's too hard to understand it doesn't pertain to todays people its to clunky. Hogwash! It is a simple matter to read and understand the KJV. Personally I think it's good because we have to think on what we read due to the language differences. The language it is cast in makes us think differently of it because of the syntax and verbiage. We revere it and do not place it in the same category as our fictional modern books because we have it in a more formal language. So precisely because of the arguments given against the KJV are the reasons why I like it. It stands up, it stands out, and it stands apart.
So basically I went into this line of thought thinking to prove the KJV superior, But as I read and reread some opinions on the subject I came to the conclusion IT DOESNT MATTER!
Isaiah 55:11KJV So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Matthew 13:3-9KJV
3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
The thing I see in this whole thing is the importance of the WORD. As with all matters that are not doctrine we must allow the pricking of the Spirit to guide us and decide. Reading the Word, Studying the Word is the thing we have to do. We should then allow God to lead us where He wants us to go.
So my concluding thought is simple. A young newborn Christian needs milk so it matters not which they read as long as they read study and grow. For the mature Christian who needs the meat and the digestion The KJV is a must. It formulates the thoughts and makes u read reread compare and study the Word which is the desired result.
I will never use any version other than the KJV but I do not care which is used by others as long as they are actually using it. I do believe though publishers authors and others need to use the KJV of the Word for a standard text. This way when quotes are made folks who can't "understand" the KJV will have to research themselves and thus further their understanding and deepen their thought process and hopefully Open themselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
1John 2:20KJV
But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
We have an anointing of the Holy Spirit that interprets the truths of God's word and the intent, Leads us in the paths of His Word where he would have us to tread.
Read pray and Study. That is the important part.
