I was witnessing today to a young lady (probably my age) and we had a very interesting conversation.
Luk 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
We started talking about Jesus, why He came what He was here for and Who He was. I covered the Hypostatic union, full God, full man in the same body.
She was raised Catholic, but was no longer a practicing ,or even in professing, catholic. What she said to me was very interesting.
She said she thought God sent Jesus just to see how we live, what we did, and how hard life was.
And she was dead serious.
I talked with her briefly about the perfect sinless sacrifice and how Jesus was sinless, she said "He was?" Yes, He had to be sinless to bear our sin to the cross that we might have life eternal. She had heard of salvation but had no idea what it was, what it entailed or how it was achieved.
This conversation took place in Missouri where there is a church every 2 feet. The Midwest where God is preached, morals are lived and this woman had no idea who Jesus was in her 45ish years.
Church we have left a void. we have left a world to fend for itself.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
